nice to see you`re active again.
Now, regarding the “Mayapur” record. I do not agree with your idea about the RKP records beeing combined to Acyutananda das. ONLY the “India” record was a Acyutananda one, the rest “meditation” and “HK Festival” were all Hansadutt-combined. By the time of theese records pressing the situation in Germany was like: we got a donation – let`s have a couple of thousand records pressed!
Hansadutta was the main leading guru at that time. Praphupada did two visits to Germany. One in 69 when he was in Hamburg and one in 74 when he did initiations at the castle ( Schloss Rettershof ) By that time we had about 5 or 6 centers in Germany of which Hamburg was the most important one till early 74. Then the castle was the top center with Chacravarty as President. I tend to say that all of the records on HKP and RKP were pre-74 recordings. All was pushed to satisfy Srila Prabhupada while in Germany. During the years 75 to 77 there was not much music activity. The money was spent on printing books. By that time Hansadutta was hardly seen in Germany and around 77 Hari-cash-Vishnupada was the follow-up leader and a new episode of music arose with his band RASA while Hansadutta was presenting his “nothing to loose” , “vision” and “nice but dead” stuff.
Now, what is very interesting with the “mayapur” record is: The sticker (label) unlike the records before does not show ” Radha Krsna Production” on top. And it is the first record I´ve seen that refers to Iskcon Sweden (Stockholm)!?
The version of “Jaya Radha Madhava” might have been recorded during the “meditation” session !?!

Why “Festival recording” ; well it was just hip at that time to speak of festival ( remember the 7″ records!) — it was like party or maybe today” chill out music”, so nothing worth to speculate on.

Oh no problem at all!

As for hardware, I use something by Roland that’s no longer made. I think they’ve updated it, but I’m not completely sure. A lot of folks are using this little guy. As for software, if you’re on Linux or PC, I’d use Audacity. It’s free and does the jobby job. If you’re on a Mac, I’ve got no idea and I extend my sympathies to you.

Also, could you recommend some good hardware and software to convert cassette tapes to digital? I’m working on converting some old lecture tapes and kirtans. Haribol!

Nope, I’m sorry. I’m only going to be digitizing the traditional sounding records. No Rasa, Change of Heart, etc. Hopefully somebody else will take up that task.

Haribol will you digitalise old vinyls like Rasa Oasis or the changed pop songs like I can get more satisfaction cause I chant and alike?
